Residential Driving Courses, Learn to Drive with an intensive residential course

Accommodation

During your stay on your driving course you will be accommodated in our self-catering cottage. The cottage is totally self contained and located on the shores of Clew Bay. It affords you total privacy and an opportunity to unwind after your day’s learning to drive. We live beside the cottage so should you need assistance we are on hand.

Alternatively, we can assist you in arranging your own accommodation in one of the excellent hotels or in a delightful bed and breakfast in Westport town.

Westport, Ireland’s Tidiest Town 2001,2006 &2008 is an ideal place to spend some time. It has a varied selection of places to eat a choice of swimming pools, the new Greenway and much much more.

Why Residential?

The course is completed swiftly. Pupils using the ‘one-lesson-a-week’ approach often take many months to learn to drive. While this helps to spread out the cost you do end up paying more in the long run. This is because you often forget what you have learned from one week to the next. You end up taking one step forward and two steps back. Consequently you take more lessons to pass the test.

Having none of the usual distractions around home means some of your spare time can be spent studying what you have learned that day.

The rural aspect in beautiful surroundings and the versatility of our driving programmes within this location can be much less stressful on your learner driver demands.

Committing yourself to a residential programme gives no leeway for missing the odd lesson to go out as can be associated with home based modules.   Thus, you are obligated and committed to complete the course and this is most likely what you have always wanted.

As you are not in your home environment, you are away from the gaze of neighbours and colleagues as you learn to drive. Learning in anonymity can be a big bonus to some people.
